Spaghetti Bolognese

  • olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 300g lean good quality steak mince
  • 500ml passata
  • Grated vegetables (courgette/carrot)
  • Chopped peppers, mushrooms
  • 1 dsp of balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 -1 Beef stock cube (keep low salt)
  • Wholewheat spaghetti 80g
  • 30g Cheddar cheese each (optional)


Heat oil, add & cook crushed garlic & onions. Add the chopped vegetables, once cooked, add mince and stir.

Increase the heat until mince is fully cooked. Add the passata, stock and balsamic vinegar, stir in the grated vegetables, cook for 15-20 minutes until flavours have mixed and veg is cooked. Serve on wholewheat spaghetti rocket leaves and top with cheese.
